Art Opportunity -- Call for Entries March 2015 Calendar Art -- Deadline February 20

All visual artists are invited by BAREBRUSH founder and CEO, Ilene Skeen to submit art of all genres for three Barebrush calendar exhibitions: March 2015 N*des-of-the-Month calendar exhibition, the March 2015 PhotoArt N*des calendar exhibition, and the March 2015 Best-of-the-Rest calendar exhibition.

Selection of Artworks and Guest Curator and Juror of Awards: Bob Mueller, Salmagundi Club

Bob Mueller is an artist, writer, collector, and former museum president. He is head curator of the Salmagundi Club’s collection of American Art. His deep interest in scholarship has given the Club greater understanding of its collection in context while educating membership through informational displays and Curator’s exhibitions. He is an accomplished and enthusiastic regular at the Club’s monthly Monotype Party which has become the Club’s most popular, ongoing participatory event.

When asked what he would be seeking in art of Barebrush, Mr. Mueller wrote:

Above all, I look for outstanding quality. Visual impact, composition, and handling of technique are equally important. Each work is judged on its own merits whether traditional or abstract. In addition to appreciating beauty, art is meant to make us think differently. Though a traditional artist and collector myself, I especially appreciate works that open my eyes and allow me to see things in a new way.

Barebrush founder and CEO, Ilene Skeen, notes: "The Barebrush website has over 3,700 artworks and some great innovations. Our system of guest curators and art of the day calendars is original, and fun. We have just completed some  great innovations which make the site friendlier to both artists and art lovers:
  1. New! Personal Shops for Barebrush Artists: Help art lovers find and buy art.

  2. New! Enhanced Price Display: All artists can now show exact prices for their artworks. Barebrush does not charge commission unless we are personally involved in the sale.

  3. New! Gallery Store--Search, Browse, Buy: Search by genre, media and text. Help art lovers invest in their passion. Sell your art.

  4. New! Improved Art Contact Form: Contact form includes thumbnail of the artwork, description and price. The form goes to Barebrush with a copy to the potential buyer and a bcc to the artist.
Barebrush advertises on Facebook and in the NY Gallery Guide. As more Barebrush artists have shops, we will be our advertising will be more effective. Artists should price their work to sell."

For complete details and entry requirements for the calendar exhibitions, see the Barebrush Call for Entries Dynamic Count Page or the latest Complete Details.

Barebrush recently hosted its third brick and mortar gallery show at the at NoHo Gallery in Chelsea. The show was called  "Undressed & not."   Details here, or click on the "Links" tab in the Barebrush main menu for show catalogs, videos and more from the 2013 and 2011 Barebrush gallery shows.

The goal of Barebrush is to increase the interest, acceptance and enjoyment of the art of the nude through monthly art exhibits which help worthy artists win recognition and prizes. On line since 2006 with N*des-of-the-Month, Barebrush now also publishes PhotoArt N*des and Best-of-the Rest (all non-nude genres).

In short, the goal of Barebrush is to become the "Google® of Nudes."
