Barebrush is proud to announce that Featured Artist, Joseph Mays, of Kentucky was selected for the Lexington Art League 2011 annual nude show, open to all artists working in this controversial genre.


QX.net Nude 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the international show that includes works focusing on the human form, personal identity, exploring contemporary life and the social politics that impact us all. 50 pieces were selected for the show from 600 submissions received from all across the country and abroad.

Pictured are collaborators Joseph Mays and Jill Morgan, and their piece which was selected for inclusion in the show, "The Fall".

New York, NY — Jan 5, 2011. All visual artists are invited by BAREBRUSH founder and CEO, Ilene Skeen to submit art of the nude for the February 2011 N*des-of-the-Month calendar contest. Guest curator for the Barebrush February calendar will be Mr. Edward Brennan, former President, Chairman of the Board, and watercolor instructor at the Salmagundi Club. The Salmagundi Club is the oldest art club in New York, providing a welcome to artists and art patrons since 1871.

  

When asked what he would like to see in the art work, Mr. Brennan replied:

 

I would like to see the artists individual approach and what separates them from others and makes them individual artists: Individual style and methods.
