Call for Entries: Barebrush 5th Anniversary calendar. Curator to select 30 artworks. Prizes.
New York, NY — July 5, 2011. All visual artists are invited by BAREBRUSH founder and CEO, Ilene Skeen to submit art of the nude for the September 2011 N*des-of-the-Month calendar contest. Guest curator for the Barebrush Fifth Anniversary September 2011 calendar will be Della Clason Sperling, founder of Sperling Arts New York.
When asked what she would like to see for the September 2011 Barebrush calendar, Ms. Sperling wrote:

As many Barebrush artists realize, our curators are continually involved even after they complete their calendar selection. The Barebrush current and past curators vote on the Curators’s Choice Awards each month. Della Sperling has been one of our most consistently involved voting curators, so I am very pleased to have her back for our fifth anniversary calendar.
Deadline, Procedures and Benefits
The deadline for contest entries is August 21, 2011. All artists who work in this controversial genre are encouraged to join barebrush and submit their art DIRECTLY ON THE BAREBRUSH WEBSITE. DO NOT SUBMIT ART TO DIRECTLY TO THE CURATOR OR TO ILENE SKEEN, ONLY ART SUBMITTED ON BAREBRUSH.COM WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE CALENDAR CONTESTS. Membership is required to submit art. Membership is free. There is a nominal fee to upload art. Instructions at the web site. As part of the Barebrush submission process, new art of the nude entered on or before August 21, 2011 and live in the artist's gallery page on August 22, 2011 will be automatically considered for both September and October 2011 N
*des-of-the-Month contests.
Procedure for New Members
- Join Barebrush
- Login to Membership Area (My Page)
- Enter Member Info (first and last name)
- Enter Artist Info (Artist "byline", location, account settings)
- Buy Points
- Upload Art, Enter descriptive details
All art is "human reviewed" to eliminate pornography and spammers. Your art will be viewable on your gallery page and in the Art Log within one day. You will get an email when your art goes live.
Procedure for Existing Members
- Set your art to auto-renew to renew automatically
- All of your art on your active gallery page at the deadline date is automatically entered
- Upload new art, if so desired.

I have enjoyed helping Ilene create this calendar before, and I am very pleased to have been invited to participate again. I have seen signs of difference as the calendar has evolved, but I would like particularly to see more variety: not only men or women, but couples, particularly LGBT and/or those who are rarely emulated. I am eager to see something that I have not seen before. I want not only to admire your artistic prowess but to feel something and learn from your submission.
